Dan Munoz won 2nd place in the 2009 Stingrey Classic Honolulu, HI. He now has one year qualification to enter a national show (Pro-Qualifier. )

The StingRey Classic Bodybuilding is an annual event that carries various events such as bodybuilding, fitness and figure, and bikini competition. Just like most contests, this is open and requires mental strength, discipline and extreme training.

Rigid training is of course imminent as well as the dieting and food intake, and for the people who keep themselves fit and love challenges, this is the event to be at. To be worthy to compete is such an event, there are some basics to consider:

Step 1: Choose your Event
Decide on when and where you will compete. On Oahu, there are two main competitions: the Paradise Cup in November (http://www.theparadisecup.com/pages/default.html) and the StingRey Classic in April (http://www.stingreyclassic.com/).

Step 2: Diet
Start your diet three months before your event, eating five to six small meals per day (one every three to four hours) comprised of lean protein, complex carbohydrates and green veggies while consuming at least one gallon of water daily. Avoid high sodium foods, simple carbohydrates and fats.

Step 3: Weight Training
Three months prior to your event, you will need to increase the intensity of your weight training and aim to achieve high intensity levels during each weight training session. You will also start to do cardiovascular exercise every day for at least thirty minutes per session.

Step 4: Posing and Attire
Competitors need an individual posing routine and contest attire; two items that require professional assistance. There are many qualified individuals that assist with this specific contest preparation. Do your research to find a coach that suits you.

They may be demanding in requirements but just bear in mind that you have others competing as well and you may be up for some tough competition to determine who is indeed physically fit!
